Stronghold Kingdoms has a major new update today, with changes and new options for launching attacks and for factions. There are other, more minor changes, but the entire update is the most significant in a while.
Factions get a couple of new options. You can now apply directly to join factions, cutting out the extra stepa previously involved like getting an invitation. On the other side, faction leaders can now approve those applications or reject them directly. And the faction screen will be split into invites and applications to accommodate the new system. If a player has to be dismissed from a faction for any reason, that player now receives a report that tells who issued the dismissal.
The castle design template system, which lets players save setups they would like to use again, was a success. Now there's a system in a similar vein that lets you set templates for attack formations and save up to five of them. This idea was originally derived from the Stronghold Kingdoms forums, making it a direct community contribution.
Some of the other changes include a build queue indicator, which lets you know the order of your projects, the ability to filter mail by username, and a village dropdown list to more easily see who owns what and where.
