There Came An Echo is a new project from Iridium Studios that won't quite be the same as other RTS games. For one, the plan is that it will be voice controlled. The squad-based game has just been announced with a Kickstarter campaign in tow. The lead for the project will be none other than actor (and geek icon) Wil Wheaton.
Watch the video above to hear just how the game is planned to work, but the basics break down to a few points. Players will issue voice commands to their squadmates, with basic voice recognition, switching units, changing weapons, and more all controlled by telling the game and your squad members what to do. The video features prototype footage of this in action, so there is a build out there to form the basis for the crowdfunding campaign. Iridium is asking for $90,000 and has hit about 30% of its funding in just a day. Iridium's first game, Sequence, was also funded through Kickstarter.
