If you're an avid or heavy viewer of TwitchTV, then you might be the type of gamer that the company is looking for with its new Twitch Turbo option. This new membership tier is a monthly offering that will turn off all ads on the site, award a special member badge, a custom emoticon set, a series of exclusive chat colors, and priority when it comes to customer support.
Twitch Turbo's announced cost? $8.99 per month. Though the offerings seem to be mostly in the ad-free nature of the membership and in the customer service, whether this is a good value or not is in the hands of the individual gamer. However, the announcement of the new service did some with word from Twitch that this is only the beginning for the service.
Is this going to be worth it for gamers? Will streamers benefit in any way from an expanded program? We're curious to see what Twitch does with its new offering. Of note, Justin.TV Pro Accounts won't work on TwitchTV anymore, so players are advised to switch over.
