Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto has given an interview in which he states that the upcoming Pikmin 3 will be more like the first Pikmin. While Pikmin had timers, the sequel did away with them to make the game less stressful and more accessible to the player, an idea Miyamoto wasn't too fond of.
So Pikmin 3 seems to be returning to its origins with the decision to make things more strategic this time around."When we started creating Pikmin 3 I gathered the main members who worked on Pikmin 2 and talked about how I thought it was important to get back to the basics of Pikmin 1," he said. Will the challenge of bringing the series back to its RTS roots bring you to the Wii U? Only time will tell.
Pikmin 3 is set for release sometime in Q2 (April-June).
